Respecting Stray Dogs & Inspiring Humans
Stray animals roam the streets of India without shelter, food and veterinary care. Even at risk of getting poisoned. And people are often helpless in view of the dogs' agony or streetfights.
In India, street dogs tend to be misunderstood as dangerous wild animals. Also as animals which can be poisoned for no reason or without any karmic implications. But dogs have a lot to give us humans, IF we let them!
As guardians, dogs take care of us, our homes, children and other animals. They defend our property – if we provide basic shelter, food, water and kindness.
Animals are wonderful. But too often they get disrespected, chained, abused, and are at the mercy of humans. Every dog has honour and dignity though, and the right to live and be protected. Just as we humans.
Stray dogs roam the streets without shelter, food and veterinary care. Also streetfights amongst the homeless dogs are a major issue in India.
Our organisation aims at providing nutrition, rescue, medicine and love to strays in need in the region of Tiruvannamalai (Tamil Nadu) and Ranipokhari (Uttarakhand). And we also inform locals and educate children about what they can do to improve the situation in the streets and communities.

Our Approach and Philosophy:
Awareness
All humans and all animals are children of the same one great existential intelligence. Some people call IT god. And while some animals gift us humans tangible VISIBLE goods, – cows provide milk for cheese, ghee and butter, or chicken lay eggs – dogs gift us INVISIBLE surprises as guardians, defenders, heart-openers with healing powers.

Artists united: Animal-loving painters and illustrators support us in our mission to improve the interaction between humans and dogs. Good communication is everything and art can be a great way to inspire and convey important messages. Check our gallery. Action
Action needs purpose. Many people wonder what their purpose in life is. Purpose is the motivation and focus that comes from the fire of our values and visions. It gives meaning to our life and that of our community. Fulfilling and inspiring action can come from applied spirituality: compassion AND conscious action. Spaying and neutering is a key to reduce not only the straydog population but also avoid conflicts between dogs as well as between dogs and humans. Spaying a female dog can cost from Rs. 3,000 to 10,000, while neutering a male dog can cost Rs. 2,000 to 8000.
Injured and senior street dogs experience the toughest life amongst stray animals, and medical challenges makes it difficult if not impossible to get adopted. With your help, we alleviate their ailments and diseases, organise surgery, provide food and medical care and give them some comfort and peace to live out their lives.
